Systems Technician, Class 2 – ATC: San Juan, Puerto Rico
We would like to announce the recent opening for Systems Technician Class 2 in the Automatic Train Control System area.
SUMMARY
Responsible for support, troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment pertaining to the Automatic Train and Control Systems.
To apply this position you must possess the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent two year accredited college or technical school in Electronics and at least two (2) years relevant work of experience in electronics and/or communications systems.
- Extended work experience in electronics may be substituted for educational credentials if appropriate.
- Knowledge on computers, software, and/or PLC programming
- Ability to speak read and write both Spanish and English in a work setting. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Test and troubleshoot electronic components and circuit boards.
- Ability to program Train Control devices and related equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and drawings; perform investigations and troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, radio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license in the appropriate class and any other certificates, licenses and registrations as required by law to perform the specified functions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; kneel and crouch; talk or hear.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
